French luxury leathergoods sector announces another production expansion

23/01/2014
Following in the footsteps of manufacturers in other parts of France in 2013, Auvergne-based Maroquinerie du Puy, which makes handbags for one of the country’s biggest luxury labels, has launched a project to expand its production capacity.

The company is building a new production facility in Loudes, near Le Puy-en-Velay, and has said it will double its workforce to 200 when the new factory is up and running, which will be before the end of 2015.

Maroquinerie du Puy only began operations in the region three years ago.
