Ethiopian tannery honoured in export awards

A tannery in Ethiopia was among prize-winners at an event organised by the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) held to honour companies which made a large contribution to the country’s exports in 2013.

Mojdo Tannery was established in 1964 as a crocodile skin producer but is now focused on tanning sheep and goat skin.

Bekalu Zeleke, president of CBE, said the exporters demonstrated remarkable performance at a time when there was a stiff global competition.
