ACLE to have important German presence

The German Leather Industry Association (VDL) has acknowledged the support of the country’s ministry of economics and technology and the organiser of GDS, Messe Du¨sseldorf, in establishing a German pavilion at the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai (September 4-6).

Two former Tannery of the Year participants, Heller-Leder, global and European winner in 2011, and Lederfabrik Josef Heinen, highly commended for Europe in 2010, will be among the German tanners exhibiting in Shanghai. The German tanning sector, characterised, VDL said in the build-up to the event, by “outstanding product qualities” and “the highest levels regarding environmental, energy and social standards”, will also be represented by Richard Hoffmans.

Hide trading companies, including Schauco and HiCon Europe, will be there to display raw materials, as will several prominent leather chemicals manufacturers who have their headquarters in Germany.

VDL will have its own information stand at the exhibition and research, testing and certification body FILK will also be there.
