Tanning Tech inspires optimism

Italian association of tanning machinery manufacturers Assomac has said it recored “a substantial increase” in visitor numbers at the 2012 editions of the Simac and Tanning Tech exhibitions, which took place in Bologna from October 9-11.

In its post-event report, Assomac also said that levels of interest in the technology on show were high and “big contracts were signed on the spot”.

Across both events, there were 242 exhibitors from 20 countries this year.

Among the visitors, there were organised delegations from a wide range of countries: Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The Indian delegation included directors from research, development, education and company assistance centres such as CLRI in Chennai, FDDI in Delhi and the FREYA/ILPA Infrastructure Development Institute in Kolkata.

“The 2012 results fill us with optimism, despite all the uncertainties on the international front,” said Assomac in conclusion.
