Brazilian brands turn heads in Paris

Brazilian shoes and handbags proved to be a big hit at the Première Classe event in Paris at the start of September. The Brazilian delegation said afterwards that the stands of participating brands were so busy that some conversations with potential clients had to take place in a nearby lounge.

São Paulo-based Footwear designer Sarah Chofakian said she was was pleased with the quality of orders. She said she had made a deal with a Russian buyer from "a very famous shop" and had also made new customers in Italy and Japan, as well as setting up various pieces of business with companies in France. 

Salvador-based handbag designer Irá Salles said she had established contact with new customers in Austria, the UK and Greece. Irá Salles also received a visit from a Swiss buyer who was interested not only in the style of product, but also in its corporate social responsibility credentials.
