31/10/2019
Interested parties have until December 23 to bid for the work.
Between them, the two companies collect 35,000 tonnes of dried sludge per year, some from industry, principally the tanning industry, and some from households. At present, the dried sludge goes into landfill, but current estimates suggest that available landfill capacity will be exhausted in the next five years.
Chief executive of Acque del Chiampo, Andrea Pellizzari, said on announcing the exercise: “The tender has two objectives. First, to select the operating partner that presents the best technological solution. Second, to set up a new company entrusted with a 30-year contract to manage the dried sludge produced by the Acque del Chiampo and Medio Chiampo purifier plants.”
This new company will be a holding company owned by Acque del Chiampo, Medio Chiampo and the technical partner that wins the tender. The new technical partner will be entitled to own between 61% and 70% of shares.
