Spain's leathergoods manufacturers increased exports during 2007 by more than 16%, according to new figures released by the industry.
The Spanish association of leathergoods manufacturers (ASEFMA) said on releasing the results that design, high-quality raw materials, careful manufacturing and and a positive image of Spanish companies abroad are some of the factors that contributed to the growth.
Exports were worth €419 million for the year. France was the most valuable market for companies in the sector with a 29.2% share.
