Pakistan to upgrade leather research centre

Pakistan
’s government plans to invest Prs39.5 million ($651,707) in upgrading the country’s leather research centre in Karachi.

Speaking to www.leatherbiz.com, Dr Hafeez Rab Nawaz, project director at the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR), said that the government had already approved the investment in the centre, which was established in the 1980s, which will provide training, leather chemical, laboratory and research facilities for the local leather industry.
