European insight at Dongguan China Shoes

Visitors will be able to attend a free seminar programme at the fifth Dongguan China Shoes and China Shoetec event on April 18–20, covering topics such as entering the European and Chinese markets, dealing with restricted substances and quality assurance.

Massimo Donda, president of Federcalzature and the Italian Footwear Retailers Association, will present an ‘Overview of Worldwide & European Footwear Data (In Terms of Production, Consumption, Export & Import) - How to Capture Business Opportunities of Italy Shoes Market?’, whilst the Guangdong Chain Operations Association will provide a half-day symposium on ‘Overview of Chinese Domestic Footwear Market - In terms of Market Analysis, Merchandising Strategy and Direction’. 

Various experts will also offer an insight into dealing with hazardous substances in different countries. Arnaud Dyduck, assistant manager of France-based CTC Group, will give a talk ‘Control of Restricted Substances in Footwear and Leather Goods: The Key to Protecting Your Brand’; Kathy Leung, project manager of STR HK and Gabor Arpad Piller, chemical director of STR Taiwan, will speak on ‘Recent Trends in New Restricted Substances for Footwear in 2007’; and

Andy Huang, senior manager, and Tina Tian, manager, of Intertek, will present ways to ensure physical performance and look at testing for hazardous substances in terms of European regulations.
