First MBA in Leather Management

27/08/2004

University College Northampton, UK, has launched a MBA course designed for future and current managers in the leather and associated industries. The MBA in Leather Management will be available for study from October 04 and, according to UCN, is possibly the first such course in the world.

The leather industry has been subject to fast evolution in the last few years and its focus has shifted from a craft-based activity to an industry with more emphasis on science-based professional management.

Developed in consultation with the British School of Leather Technology (BSLT), centre for the education and training of leather technologists and technicians, the course will equip participants with business and management know-how and practical managerial skills. According to Tony Covington, Professor of Leather Sciences at BSLT, the course offers ingredients for a competitive and successful business recipe.
