Vollebak's jacket fit for a spy
British fashion brand Vollebak, known for its use of novel materials and fibres, has launched its first leather jacket – inspired by a NASA electromagnetic shielding, blocking access to devices.
The Leather Shielding Jacket is made from black nappa sheep leather and has been tanned using plant-based tannins.
The lining is embedded with pure silver that blocks radio waves and microwaves in the frequency range 30MHz to 10GHz – which includes WiFi, Bluetooth, Ku-band satellites and radar systems.
A hidden phone-shielding pocket blocks access to devices whether on or off.
The jacket is made in London, and will be delivered in September.
