Italy’s consulate in Madrid hosted an event for brands on July 2. 

National tanning industry association UNIC and leather and footwear machinery manufacturers’ association Assomac were the focus of the event. 

They chose as a title ‘Connections For the Future’, and said it would examine the role of fashion and technology in the Italian leather value chain. 

UNIC said it would be an opportunity for telling the story of “the excellence of ‘Made In Italy’ and the strategic synergy that exists between leather manufacturers and technology developers”.  

It said it expected representatives in Spain of around 180 brands to attend.
