Social dialogue meeting addresses TCLF challenges
Representatives of the European textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) sectors recently met officials from the European Commission's employment and industry services to discuss policy developments and measures aimed at supporting competitiveness across the industries.
The meeting took place within the framework of the TCLF Social Dialogue Joint Committee and brought together the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC), COTANCE, EURATEX and industriAll Europe, alongside their respective national social partners.
Discussions focused on several EU initiatives and policy areas, including the proposed Industrial Accelerator Act, the "Made in EU" initiative and the Circular Economy Act. Participants also exchanged views on the development of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies, ongoing EU trade negotiations with India and Mercosur, and implementation of the EU Forced Labour Regulation.

CEC said strong cooperation between social partners and the European Commission remains important for addressing shared challenges, strengthening competitiveness and supporting a sustainable, resilient and innovative future for Europe's TCLF industries.
