The new president of Italian tanning industry representative body UNIC is the chief executive of Bonaudo, Alessandro Iliprandi. Milan-based Bonaudo produces high-quality leather for the footwear, apparel and leathergoods sectors. It has manufacturing sites in Veneto, Tuscany and Lombardy. 

On taking up the presidency, Mr Iliprandi said: “This is a particularly difficult moment for our sector. The challenges are many, but UNIC has a the vision, the courage and the will to make things better.” 

He said his priorities as president will include a strengthening of collaboration between leather manufacturers and their customers.
