Visitor growth for the Salone Del Mobile
The organisers of the 2026 edition of the Salone Del Mobile exhibition in Milan have confirmed that this year’s event, which ran from April 21-26, attracted a total of 316,342 visitors. This figure represents growth of 4.5% compared to the 2025 edition of the furniture exhibition.
President of the Salone Del Mobile, Maria Porro, said the 2026 event had reaffirmed that, “even in the most challenging times”, the furniture industry was determined to move forward.
She said the exhibition had provided “a concrete direction for the supply chain”, combining industrial continuity with the capacity for innovation. She added that the model under which the high-end furniture sector works in Italy was rooted in local communities and was “difficult to replicate elsewhere”. Nevertheless, she insisted Italian furniture was still competitive on international markets.
In her comments, Ms Porro also celebrated the recognition that the Salone Del Mobile received during the 2026 edition as an official global ambassador for Italian design.
In an article in the April-May 2026 issue of World Leather, Maria Porro has shared her thoughts on the furniture industry’s role in the wider Made In Italy phenomenon.
