Evaluating employee wellbeing at Gemata

27/03/2026

Italian tanning machinery supplier Gemata participated in a workplace health promotion initiative that was the subject of a scientific study presented at the XVI SIMSES National Congress and published in the journal Sport Sciences for Health.

The programme, titled “Gemata: Feel good and work better”, included information sessions, training, and supervised physical activity for employees and management, along with the introduction of “active breaks” during working hours.

Activities were conducted by specialists in motor sciences and were structured using recognised assessment tools. The initiative was carried out alongside the company’s existing workplace health measures, including an on-site gym.

Results from the study indicated that participants reported a positive response to the initiative and increased awareness of health and physical activity. Some improvements were noted in the management of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in the cervical area. The study also identified areas for potential improvement in employee engagement for future activities.
