Uruguay’s cattle slaughter on the rise

New figures from Uruguay show that cattle slaughter there registered an increase in the first nine months of 2025.

The country’s national meat industry institute, INAC, said abattoirs in Uruguay processed just under 1.8 million head of cattle in the January-September period this year.

This is an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period in 2024. It also indicates an increase of 9.2% compared to the first nine months of 2023.
