Official launch for Brazil’s cattle identification plan
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock has officially launched the National Plan for Individual Identification of Cattle and Buffalo.
The official ceremony took place on December 17 at the Ministry's headquarters in Brasília, with the presence of Minister Carlos Fávaro; the executive president of CICB, José Fernando Bello; CICB's sustainability advisor Ricardo Andrade; and representatives from the production chain, the press and government entities.
The goal is to enhance the traceability of cattle and buffalo through the implementation of an individual identification system. This system will allow for the monitoring and recording of the history and location of each animal.
