Hermès breaks ground on 24th leather workshop

Luxury brand Hermès’ has ‘broken ground’ on its 24th leather workshop in France, which will open next year and employ 260.

The L’Isle-d’Espagnac workshop will join the South-West hub, which includes the Maroquinerie de Montbron as well the Maroquinerie de Nontron leathergoods workshops and the Ganterie Maroquinerie de Saint-Junien glove and leathergoods workshop, which have been operating in the region for over 25 years.

Hermès will be recruiting from the École Hermès des savoir-faire, an apprenticeship training centre accredited by the French Ministry of Education that opened in September 2022 in Marthon.
