Eighty teachers attend Veneto leather sustainability course
80 teachers from 13 schools in the Chiampo Valley attended the first edition of the "Know and Experience the Sustainability Objectives of the 2030 Agenda" training course.
The course was organized by the Veneto Leather District in partnership with UNIC. The teachers received their certificates of participation on September 11, at the District and Acque del Chiampo Spa, which hosted the course for middle school teachers at its headquarters in Arzignano.
The course focused on how the tanning industry aligns with sustainability objectives, such as climate change, environmental sustainability, sustainable development, and the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda. It also aimed to understand the ways in which this industry is implementing strategies, certifications, and techniques to reduce its environmental impact on the region.
Teachers participated in practical workshops with technical partner Pleiadi, using unique approaches to promote scientific education.
District Director Matteo Macilotti praised the initiative as a crucial opportunity to raise awareness of sustainability investments. The Veneto Leather District, UNIC-Italian Tanneries, and Acque del Chiampo Spa collaborated to make the course possible. UNIC's general director and Acque del Chiampo's president emphasised the significance of innovative training tools for teachers.
