Gruppo Biokimica inaugurates innovation hub laboratory
Italian leather chemicals conglomerate Gruppo Biokimica, recently opened their new research and development laboratory.
The “BKLAB Innovation Hub” will be used for the development of sustainable leather processing chemicals and leather analysis but will also bridge the gap between business and university research with the facility availed for use by students and research scientists. It was opened after ratification of a signed protocol with the Tuscany region for safer and more environmentally friendly production.
Ahead of the official opening of the laboratory, the inauguration day started with a short conference under the theme “Measuring Sustainability”. The conference was attended by invited guests and dignitaries including the mayors of Valdarno Inferiore, head of ZDHC for South Europe Elisa Gavazza and Alessandra Nardini the Tuscany region councillor for education, university and research.
The capabilities of the new laboratory were explained by the president of the Biokimica Group Massimo Baldini and various technical staff of the company.
