Bottega Veneta opens 'flagship' on China's JD.com
Kering-owned Italian luxury company Bottega Veneta became the first of the group’s fashion and leathergoods brands to launch an official JD.com "flagship" on May 16, immediately making 2,000-plus products, handbags, shoes and small leathergoods among them, available for purchase.
JD is one of China’s largest e-commerce businesses, ranking alongside the likes of Alibaba’s Taobao and Tmall, Pinduoduo, Xiaohongshu and Suning in terms of its local market dominance.
The brand, now discoverable by searching for either “Bottega Veneta” or “BV” on JD.com, joins more than 400 other “luxury" flagship storefronts on the site, the retailer said.
JD added that it will supply the Milan-based company with “comprehensive support for operations and marketing resources” and expects to work together to maximise new product launches, customer engagement and “key gifting moments” moving forward. It also suggested Bottega Veneta is focused on “catering to JD consumers’ needs”, potentially leading to an expanded product offer in future seasons.
