Hong Kong is all smiles

Hong Kong’s mask wearing mandate came to an end on March 1, with the lifting of the final covid-19 social distancing measure.

Hong Kong chief executive, John Lee, made the announcement ahead of a recent Executive Council meeting saying that the measure that had been imposed for the past three years would come to an end, doing away with the mask wearing requirement for both indoors and outdoors.

Higher risk facilities such as hospitals and schools may still  require people to mask up, at their discretion.

Leather event APLF was last held in Hong Kong in March 2019 and has suffered a series of rolling postponements and cancellations. The event was relocated temporarily to Dubai in 2022 and will take place in Dubai again in 2023.

The news now brings fresh hope for the relocation to its home ground with event organiser Grace Lee telling Leatherbiz, “it is a sign of full return to normal in Hong Kong. We are glad this mandate is scrapped before APLF Dubai”.
