Lineapelle to host workshop on new leather master’s programme
Industry representative body COTANCE will lead a worskshop on February 21 to share information about a new master’s degree programme in innovative leather technology. The COTANCE workshop on the project will take place at Lineapelle in Milan.
Announced in September, the new programme, called the Leatech project, will be run by a number of institutions around the world. It will be coordinated by the A3 Leather Innovation Centre of the University of Lleida in Catalonia, under the wider Erasmus Mundus educational exchange programme.
ITECH in France, EGE University in Turkey and CIATEC in Mexico will all work with the A3 Centre to offer master’s qualifications of 120 credits. The course will be conducted in English.
COTANCE is also a project partner and its secretary general, Gustavo González-Quijano, will lead the workshop. In the build-up to Lineapelle, he said completing the programme would qualify students for high-level positions in the global leather industry and its international value chain.
He said: “The master’s will focus on innovation, beauty and performance and will prepare the leather professionals of tomorrow for the green, digital and circular economy.”
