Leathersellers opens new student grant programme
City of London livery company Leathersellers has launched a new student grant programme for 2023-2024.
It has invited applications for grants of up to £5,000 per year for four years. Its aim is to support students who are undertaking leather-related courses and whose circumstances may otherwise hinder them from achieving their goals.
This can include undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral studies and apprenticeships.
“We aim to relieve financial need where other support is not available and enable students to have a positive impact on the British leather industry in the future,” the company said.
The grant programme is open to students studying a leather-related course or who work in the leather industry and who want to continue with further training.
For the purposes of the programme, the company will consider students working with leather in fashion, product design, engineering, leather technology, chemical engineering, product development and process control engineering.
