Tanning group acquires small skins facility
On July 19, the Bonaudo tannery group in Italy acquired the Conti tannery in Urgnano in the province of Bergamo.
With more than a century of experience behind it, the Conti tannery specialises in the processing of lamb, goat and sheep skins. With this acquisition, Bonaudo has said it will be able to offer “a complete service” to luxury manufacturers.
The Bonaudo group already runs production sites in Cuggiono in the province of Milan, in Montebello in Vicenza, San Giovanni Ilarione in Verona, and Santa Croce sull’Arno in Pisa.
“The acquisition of Conceria Conti allows us to strengthen our offer,” Bonaudo chief executive, Alessandro Iliprandi, said, “in particular by inserting linings for the production of leathergoods for the main luxury houses.”
This will allow Bonaudo to meet increasing demand for “materials with a very low environmental impact,” Mr Iliprandi noted.
