Shang Xia goes street
27/05/2022
Originally skewed more towards sneaker resale and authentication, Dewu caters to streetwear enthusiasts and content creators, as well as operating as a full-service fashion marketplace. It was founded in 2015.
Shang Xia, on the other hand, launched in 2009 following a partnership agreement between Parisian luxury company Hermès and designer Jiang Qiong Er, inspired by a desire to create high-end products influenced by China’s cultural heritage. The brand has been majority owned by Dutch holding company Exor since 2020.
Establishing an official footprint on Dewu provides Shang Xia with another touchpoint along its route to engaging younger consumers, sources familiar with the matter said. It marked its launch on the app with the release of a gift box designed to mark the 520 festival, celebrated on May 20 and regarded as another Valentine’s Day in China.
