RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee meets
10/03/2022
Notably, the committee reached a consensus on four points: increased cooperation within a climate of global economic instability (the effects of the covid-19 pandemic were spotlighted here); a call to the RCEP business community to support harmonious political relations and mutual trust between signatory countries; the promotion of regional infrastructure construction specifically geared towards RCEP counties (the need to progress a Jiangmen, Guangdong-based “economic, trade, technological and cultural cooperation and exchange centre” was singled out); and the execution, by Chinese industry associations, of recommendations set out within the Chinese Ministry of Commerce’s “guiding opinions on the high-quality implementation of the RCEP”.
China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) chairman, Li Yuzhong (pictured), was among the over 80 industry leaders from RCEP countries present at the meeting.
