Two leather manufacturers travelled to Dubai to take part in the Aircraft Interiors Middle East exhibition on February 22 and 23.

Turkish group Uyguner Leather said it had been supplying leather for a range of transport applications for 85 years and currently runs a network of four tanneries in different parts of Turkey.

For its part, Muirhead, part of Scottish Leather Group, said it had taken part in the event to be able to explain to existing and new potential airline customers that it can help them meet carbon emission targets. It said the high-performance leather it offers for aircraft interiors is the lowest-carbon leather in the world at 1.1 kilos of CO2-equivalent per hide.
