India’s Trade Promotion Organisation has announced that it will not be able to go ahead with plans to run the India International Leather Fair (IILF) in Chennai in February.

The event was scheduled to run from February 1-3 and, as recently as mid-November the organiser said it had received assurances from the local authorities in Chennai that it go ahead.

However, it has now said it will postpone the exhibition until the month of May. It said it would confirm the exact dates after consultation with leather industry players and other stakeholders.
