Beef export growth goes on for US
Official figures from the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF) show an increase of 18% in the volume of the country’s beef exports in the first nine months of 2021, reaching almost 1.1 million tonnes.
In terms of value, these shipments have brought in almost $7.6 billion over the nine-month period, an increase of 36% year on year.
USMEF chief executive, Dan Halstrom, said he was confident full-year figures for this year would show exports of beef to three key markets, Japan, South Korea and China, with a full-year value of more than $2 billion each.
