Taiwan: Real Leather Stay Different competition moves forward
Twenty candidates from different universities in Taiwan have been shortlisted for the 2021 Taiwanese Real Leather, Stay Different competition, jointly organised by the Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA) and the Taiwan International Leather Association (TILA).
In total, the Taiwanese competition attracted 540 entries from 34 different universities. They responded to a brief of creating “unique, compelling designs that promote the use of leather now and in the future”.
There are four categories: apparel, bags, footwear and accessories. All designs must feature US hide and leather as the principal material.
The 20 shortlisted designers now have until July 9 to make samples of their designs.
