Scottish Leather Group launches 2021 apprenticeship programme
Scottish Leather Group (SLG) has launched a new recruitment programme for apprentices, inviting young people to join the group as apprentices in its operational excellence, laboratory, leather manufacturing, engineering and production support teams.
The group set up its own academy in 2012 to promote lifelong learning for all of its employees. Since then, 60 apprentices have joined the group, many of whom continue to work there today. In many cases, SLG has said, these young people have progressed into other functions within the business.
SLG has received recognition for its academy, including awards as the best large employer and as an apprentice champion in the Scottish Textiles Modern Apprenticeship Awards.
