Leather shines at Copenhagen Fashion Week

Abundant leather looks were on display during Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) autumn-winter 2021, which ran for three days (online) in early February.

Stockholm-based Stand Studio, which specialises in “expertly designed, high fashioned leather pieces at an accessible price”, presented multiple takes on leather outerwear and suiting, including patent and quilted finishes, plus leathergoods such as hats and handbags.

Norwegian fashion house Holzweiler similarly bet big on patent leather for the season, showing a knee-length, beige patent leather trench coat, as well as leather skirts and trouser bottoms in beige, burgundy and black.

Another Swedish brand, House of Dagmar, which was ultimately awarded CPHFW’s first, Zalando-sponsored sustainability award, unveiled long, chrome-free leather trenches (in both petrol blue and black), plus a tunic top, ankle-length skirt and aviator jacket (all black).

CPHFW describes itself as the leading Nordic fashion week, with sustainability as its “core focus”.
