Funding from Kering for regenerative farming projects
Luxury group Kering is offering grants to farmers, campaign groups and other stakeholders involved in regenerative agriculture.
As part of efforts to achieve a net positive impact on biodiversity by 2025, the group had already made public a commitment to protecting 1 million hectares of “irreplaceable habitat” outside of its direct supply chain.
Now, in addition, it wants to help transform another 1 million hectares of land on which some its raw materials are produced. It will work with specialist nature protection campaign group Conservation International to assess applications and award grants that will help farmers transition from agricultural practices that have high impacts on climate and nature towards more regenerative practices that restore nature and mitigate climate change.
Eligible projects will take place in one (or more) of the 17 countries that have been identified through a rigorous analysis by Conservation International, and will focus on one (or more) of the core raw materials for luxury: leather, wool, cotton and cashmere. Applicants have until April 30 to apply for funding.
