Kering opens new North American operations centre

Paris-based luxury group Kering announced the opening of its newest American operations centre in Wayne, New Jersey, in early December.

The new, “state-of-the-art” office, completed in summer 2020, has replaced Kering’s former facility in Secaucus, New Jersey and will serve as the company’s North American operations centre.

The move to Wayne represents a continuation of Kering’s strategic investment in the region, the company said, which will enable the group to “cope with the increased demand and continued growth of its houses in the market”.

Group managing director, Jean-François Palus, emphasised how the United States remains a “key country” for Kering, while president of Kering Americas, Laurent Claquin, highlighted the “technological advancements” which are an “integral” feature of the building’s structure.

Major new technological features incorporated into the headquarters’ design include a “tech bar” and a “retail lab”, which will be used to “validate new in-store tech solutions” to “better manage” retail and end users’ IT-related activities for the region, the group said in a press release.

The building was designed for a LEED Gold certification.
