Luxury brand president dies

The president of luxury leathergoods brand Longchamp, Philippe Cassegrain. He was 83. The company said he had died from complications, following testing positive for covid-19. 

Mr Cassegrain took over the running of Longchamp from his father, Jean, in 1972 and was involved in the running of it, with his son, also Jean, until recently. 

Philippe Cassegrain was instrumental in expanding Longchamp’s product offering into handbags and was also responsible for setting up its range of own-brand boutiques.
