Leather lends comfort, durability and elegance to library project
A refurbishment project at the oldest and largest public library in Norway, the Deichman Bjørvika library in central Oslo, includes upholstery from Elmo Leather. The Deichman library was founded in 1785; it now has 22 branch libraries across the Norwegian capital.
Elmo Leather has its headquarters in neighbouring Sweden. It used leather in a variety of colours from its Elmosoft collection for the Deichman library project.
This collection comprises semi-aniline leather articles that are soft, pliable and chrome-free. The leather manufacturer has said that high levels of comfort and durability make Elmosoft particularly well suited to a public environment.
The raw material Elmo uses for this collection consists only of Scandinavian hides and the tanning company points out that visible insect-bites and scars from healed wounds add to “the elegant quality of the leather”.
Since 2010, Elmo Leather has been part of the Rino Mastrotto Group.
