Montblanc brings leather to listening experience
German luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc has said its recent foray into tech products — which includes headphones designed with fine leather ear cushions — came in response to customers’ desire for high-quality products that help them to relax while traveling.
The wireless noise-cancelling headphones were launched alongside a smartwatch. “The [headphone’s] ergonomic lightweight design with luxuriously soft leather ear cushions ensures lasting comfort on the longest assignments,” the company said. The exchangeable leather cushions (pictured) can also be bought separately.
Montblanc's director of new technologies Felix Obschonka told Business Insider that, although some brands might be tempted to save costs by using a material other than leather, Montblanc won't do that. It’s “crucial”, he said, that the brand design products known for “quality, craftsmanship and fine materials”.
