The Italian government and authorities in the region of Tuscany luxury group Fendi will build a new production and research facility near Florence.

Fendi will take over a disused industrial site in Capannuccia, about 10 kilometres south of Florence and will set up production and research and development operations there.
Reports from Tuscany say the project will create more than 130 new jobs.

Agreement from the authorities will release funds from Italy’s ministry for economic development of more than €5 million. The region of Tuscany will provide co-funding of around €500,000, while Fendi has said it will invest €57 million.
