The Guardian in ‘positive comment about leather’ shock
In contrast to the tone of articles it has published in the recent past, daily UK newspaper The Guardian has included positive comments about leather in a guide to green living.
In an article entitled ‘50 simple ways to make your life greener’, one of the sections covered choice of materials in clothes and shoes. Having mentioned earlier in the article that shopping for vintage or second-hand items is “one of the easiest ways to shop sustainably”, its styling editor, Melanie Wilkinson, recommended leather.
She said that leather jackets, shoes and belts last for years and often look and feel even better with age.
