Court allows the return of Joesley Batista to JBS parent group
Brazil’s superior court of justice has said Joesley Batista, the former owner of J&F Investimentos, the parent company of packer and leather group JBS, should be allowed to take up a role there again.
Mr Batista stepped down in 2017 in the midst of a corruption scandal.
On May 26, a judge said an order saying Mr Batista must have no involvement in the work of the group could no longer be justified. A lawyer representing Mr Batista told Brazilian media that the lifting of the ban was with immediate effect.
