Carbon-neutral status for Bentley production plant
Automotive group Bentley Motors has achieved carbon-neutral certification for its factory in Crewe, in the north-west of England.

Certification from dedicated body the Carbon Trust confirms that the company meets the internationally recognised PAS 2060 standard for carbon neutrality.

Bentley said that a commitment to renewable energy was key to its achievement. All of the energy the electricity Bentley uses at the Crewe site is generated by either on-site solar panels or purchased as certified green electricity. All emissions that cannot be eliminated are compensated with what it calls “high-quality offsets”.

It has installed 10,000 solar panels in the car park at the plant and more than 20,000 panels on the roof.
