Fifth Lectra automotive conference comes to a close

08/03/2019
The fifth annual Lectra automotive leather conference finished on March 8, with the organisers celebrating an event that stimulated interaction between different members of this important sector’s supply chain.

An in-depth programme saw speakers from the host company and from organisations as far afield as the US and Japan. There were also a number of interesting workshops and machinery demonstrations related to Lectra technologies.

Closing the event, Marc Douay, Lectra’s automotive marketing director, said it had achieved all of its key objectives, which included reinforcing the importance of supporting companies in their pursuit of digitalisation and bringing together industry participants for networking and exchange of ideas.

He expressed pleasure with the decision to expand the scope of the event to include more components of vehicle interiors, including airbags, rather than limiting the focus to leather car upholstery.

Finally, he said the conference had offered a “comprehensive overview” of the megatrends that will impact the automotive market now and in the years to come.
