Stage set for latest iteration of Madrid shoe exhibition

The launch of ShoesRoom by Momad was announced in October. It takes the place of Momad Shoes, which had gone through a range of iterations, largely unsuccessfully.
IFEMA has created this event with the help of Spain’s principal footwear association, FICE. The organisers have said the key difference is that ShoesRoom by Momad will be a showroom-style event, allowing footwear brands to show their collections in a smaller, more intimate, more informal and more affordable context.
To reflect this new format, it will take place in La Nave, in the south of Madrid, a site set up in a former elevator factory by the city for business and cultural events. Momad Shoes took place at the larger Feria de Madrid exhibition site in the north-east of the Spanish capital.
IFEMA says it has launched an “ambitious programme” to attract international buyers from important companies and distribution chains from across the world.
The first ShoesRoom by Momad exhibition takes place from March 1-3.
