Elvis & Kresse to hold new workshop event in Mayfair

Elvis & Kresse specialises in using waste materials to make its products and it describes itself as “a sustainable luxury company that creates lifestyle accessories by re-engineering waste material through innovative craftsmanship”.
A year ago, Burberry announced a five-year partnership with Elvis & Kresse and said at least 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts from the production of Burberry collections over the course of the five-year agreement will go into Elvis & Kresse products. Other materials it likes to use include used rubber from discarded London fire service hoses.
The Mayfair event follows a workshop the brand held in Kent in August and people will pay £60 to take part. There will be tea and cake and participants will work together to assemble the rug from more than 800 pieces of leather. Co-founder Kresse Wesling will lead the activity, explaining exactly how the company goes about making products of this kind.
In the end, the rug, which Elvis & Kresse would normally sell for £780, will be won by one of the participants, with the others receiving a £60 credit note towards buying one of their own.
