A former government minister in Australia and a former deputy premier in the state of Queensland are to take part in a new taskforce to help promote the red meat industry there.

With the aim of helping to build a better future for the red meat industry in Australia, the taskforce will review an existing memorandum of understanding that the meat industry works to.

Former minister for local government in the national government, Fiona Nash, and former deputy governor of the state of Queensland, Paul Lucas, will both be on the taskforce, alongside representatives of packer companies and farmers.
