Jaguar Land Rover lends its expertise to Clarks

UK-based footwear brand Clarks has teamed up with automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover to launch a men’s shoe collection for autumn 2018.

The range, known as ‘Life.Limetless’, is inspired by the companies’ shared reputation for design and innovation. It features three styles: the CLR51.N, created with the city in mind; the versatile CLR52.N; and the CLR53.N, which has been designed for protection, stability and comfort in rugged environments.

It marks the start of a five-year partnership between Land Rover and Clarks, which will see a total of 10 collection launched. Each will be guided by three core design principles: grip, environment and stability. 

The CLR53.N has a leather upper. All three products featured GORE-TEX fabrics for waterproofness and enhanced breathability. The individual models have outsoles and midsoles that are tailored to their specific function. 

Clarks’ chief brand officer, Jason Beckley, said: “Partnering with Land Rover on this project is incredibly exciting. There is an obvious synergy between our brands, not just through our shared British heritage but also through both companies' dedication to design detail and innovation. Much like the Land Rover vehicles, the shoes are terrain appropriate, providing practicality and comfort in equal measure to the wearer, elements that are core to our DNA.”
