Kering appoints president for its business in China
Luxury group Kering has appointed Jinqing Cai as the new president of Kering China, with effect from September 10. She previously held a similar role at international auction house Christie’s.

The group said on making the announcement that Ms Cai’s mission will be to “reinforce the visibility of Kering in China”, which it said is a market that has been growing in importance continuously for the luxury industry since Gucci opened its first Chinese store in 1997.

She will also support what it called the rapid development of its luxury houses in China and in the wider region. She will be based at Kering’s offices in Shanghai.

Chief executive, François-Henri Pinault, said on making the announcement: “Kering started to invest in China some time ago and has built the foundations of a long-lasting and successful business, while continuously reinforcing our relationships with local partners. I am very pleased with the appointment of Jinqing Cai, which is a further testament to our long-term commitment.”
