Audi names new president of its China business

Volkswagen’s vice-president in South America, Thomas Owsianski, is to become president of Audi’s business in China before the end of 2018, succeeding Joachim Wedler.

Mr Owsianski moved to China at the start of August to work with Audi’s management team there in the run-up to taking up his new position. Joachim Wedler will retire after almost 35 years with Audi.

Thomas Owsianski has previous experience of the Chinese market; he was executive director of SAIC Volkswagen, the group’s Shanghai-based joint-venture, between 2014-2016.
